The Perttilä bridge
The Perttilä Suspension Bridge is the oldest steel suspension bridge in Finland still open to traffic. It crosses the Kyrönjoki River at the Perttilänkoski rapids. Built between 1909 and 1910 based on a Norwegian model, the wood-decked bridge spans a total length of 86 meters. Honoring local tradition, the bridge still features a historic sign warning visitors: “Driving at a gallop prohibited” (literally: “Driving while running prohibited”). The suspension bridge is located near The Battle of Napue Monument
