Guided Paukaneva Bog Walk
Embark on a day trip to the wooden boardwalks of Paukaneva and let nature and history capture your imagination! This guided tour offers a 2–4 hour experience where you can discover the silence of the bog, the serenity of the forest, and echoes of history – all just a short distance from Seinäjoki.
The journey begins at the Käpälikkö parking area, from where we transfer to the Paukaneva trailhead along the Vaasa–Seinäjoki highway. We leave our vehicles behind and set off on an accessible path leading into the bog landscape.
At the start of the riverside boardwalk, you will find an accessible dry toilet, and at the other end, an accessible viewing platform. Along the route, there are information boards about Paukaneva’s nature and history, as well as benches for resting. Midway, we stop at a birdwatching tower, perfect for observing species gliding over the open bog.
The walk continues along the boardwalks toward Lehtisalo lean-to shelter, where we take a break. A light snack and freshly brewed campfire coffee are included in the price. After our break, the path leads us back across the boardwalks to the starting point. The route covers about 7 km and takes roughly 2.5 hours.
Paukaneva’s nature trail offers something for everyone – from nature lovers and history enthusiasts to those seeking a peaceful moment in the outdoors. Following the boardwalks, you’ll pass through unique bog scenery, small forest islets, and sites of cultural history.
This guided tour combines the beauty of nature and the richness of history into an unforgettable day trip. The trail is easy, safe, and well-suited even for beginners.
Bring a backpack, some personal snacks, and comfortable walking shoes – and let the stories and landscapes of Paukaneva carry you away from the everyday.
