Jyllinkoski Nature Trail

Jyllinkoski Nature Trail runs along the edges of a steep river valley towards Kiskonniemi. The trail is an out-and-back route from Jyllinkoski to Kiskonniemi and back, with a total length of approximately 1.5 km. Much of the Jyllinkoski area is a protected deciduous forest nature reserve. This trail offers beautiful scenery, varied terrain, rich biodiversity, lush forest, the roar of rapids, and a bit of physical challenge due to the steep ascents. Stairs have been built in the steepest sections to ease walking, and the wettest parts of the trail are crossed via duckboards. Some slopes, duckboards, and stairs may be very slippery in wet or frosty conditions. A sturdy handrail runs along part of the trail, offering support if needed. Alternatively, you can enjoy the scenery on a shorter family route (less than 1 km round trip), which runs on the opposite side of the river compared to the main nature trail. The family route is suitable for walking with strollers, allowing even the youngest family members to enjoy the natural surroundings and the rapids. The starting point of the family route is the same as the nature trail, but it heads in a different direction. At the beginning of the route, you cross the Jyllinkoski bridge, which offers an excellent view of the roaring rapids. After the bridge, the trail turns right and follows the riverbank all the way to the dam, which serves as the turnaround point. The return is along the same path.
