Visit an authentic small Finnish sheep farm, where traditional and modern lifestyles are combined at the heart of Finnish country side. Story of the farm is also a story about the history of Finland.

A charming blend of old and new: an authentic small Finnish farm with a modern, warm-hearted twist. During this story-led visit, you’ll learn how the story of the farm is also a story about the history of Finland: how the country has risen from poverty into one ranking as the world’s happiest country during the last century. This visit offers also a glimpse into rural Finnish lifestyle: simple, serene and rooted in a deep respect for nature. You will meet and feed the much-loved small herd of arctic sheep, ducks and chicken in a calm, unhurried way. We’ll also take a peek into the world of wool and traditional handicrafting skills: how wool is made into yarn and further into different kind of products to keep us warm during the winter. In addition to short demonstrations of the key stages of the process, there is an optional “touch and try yourself” moment with the equipment. Since your hostess on the farm is a history teacher by profession, during your visit you will hear about the history of Finland and folklore related to nature. There is a little gift and handicraft shop where you may purchase small souvenirs and traditional woollen handicrafts made from our sheep. The farm is beautifully situated at the edge of fields and a forest. The open view is very traditional to the region. If you wish, we may also take a short walk in the beautiful forest surrounding the farm.
