Kivijata
Located in Lauhanvuori, Kivijata is made up of sandstone. It is a remnant of an eroded cliff edge in a sandstone area – a mass of rock fragments shaped by the Ice Age, post-glacial shoreline forces, and earthquakes. In ancient times, Kivijata was believed to be the remains of a giant’s wall.
The Pirunkierros trail (4 km) starts at Kivijata. About one kilometre in, a path branches off toward Lake Spitaalijärvi. A lean-to shelter is located along the trail at Leikkistenkangas.
Crossing Kivijata is only allowed via the marked route.
The attractions in Lauhanvuori are part of the Lauhanvuori–Hämeenkangas UNESCO Global Geopark.
